Did you know that in an issue of Rolling Stone back in 1977, "Kiss" superstar Gene Simmons proclaimed "we're not a great band...the musicianship is average"?  I believe drummer Peter Criss is the second most known by name member of the group.  Paul Stanley (black star over right eye) comes in at #3, and lastly, flame-thrower guitarist Ace Frehley.

Although originally recorded in 1975 by glam rock band "Hello", it was Frehley's "New York Groove" that busted through Billboard's Top 40 in 1978, where it climbed to #13 on the charts!  One of my 1,000 favorite tunes, except it got me a write-up on the radio station I was working for at the time.  The Program Director was none too pleased that I was playing Rock.  You try listening to the likes of Randy VanWarmer, Rex Smith, Debby Boone, Shaun Cassidy and B.J. Thomas for four hours.  'Nuff said!
