Apologetic ‘Iron Man’ Arrested for Aggravated Crown Colony Robbery
Lufkin Police arrested a man for his alleged aggravated robbery of a Crown Colony convenience store late Tuesday night.
According to a report from the Lufkin PD, Steven Jolley, 20, of Lufkin, was arrested after he robbed the Crown Colony Food Mart at gunpoint.
Jolley entered the store around 11:30 p.m. wearing an "Iron Man" mask. The clerk told officers he stuck a pistol in her face, demanded money from the register and apologized before fleeing on foot into a wooded area behind the store. It was later determined that weapon used was a BB gun.
Officers found Jolley minutes later walking at the edge of the woods on Champions Drive. He was shirtless, covered in grass and told them that he was out for a jog in the neighborhood.
Jolley eventually admitted to the robbery, saying he has a young son and has been unable to get a job. He apologized and said that he is doing 10 years probation for robbery. He added that he's afraid he'll be going to prison for a long time.
Jolley remains in the Angelina County Jail on a charge of aggravated robbery. His bond has been set at $200,000.
