Last week, Facebook made the announcement and release of their new "avatar" feature. People can make little cartoon characters that - usually - look just like them. I've seen my newsfeed flooded with the little caricatures.

However, I discovered that I don't have that option to create my own avatar. I was curious about where people were getting the option to make them,  because I thought it might be an interesting thing to do. So, I Googled it. "How to make a Facebook avatar" was what I put it. The top result told me to go check the menu option on Facebook and there should be an option titled "Avatars". But, when I followed that advice, this is what I saw:

Between "See Less" and "Blood Donations" (not really sure why this is an option, but whatever...), there should be an option to click for avatars. But, as you can see, it's not there. So, I referred back to Google. The second option was to look in Facebook Messenger. Again, no such luck. The third option said that it should give me an option to make one via comments on other posts...

Strike three. I'm done.

If anyone has any insight on this little fiasco, let me know in the comments below. I realize this isn't a big thing at all, just a minor, first-world inconvenience. I'm really just more curious as to why it isn't working...

However, until then, I hope you all enjoy your Facebook avatars...because, unfortunately, I'm not enjoying mine...
