Parents, I'm sure you've all been there: Your kid talking back, or just being all-around difficult to discipline in public. It's frustrating, and as for me - a parent to a toddler, it's inevitable. A mom in a Killeen Hobby Lobby store is gaining all sorts of praise via social media because of how she approached this very situation.

Molly Wooden posted the photo and corresponding story to her Facebook page, and it's garnered over 43,000 shares and 14,000 comments. Wooden mentioned in her post, "If my hands weren’t full of children I would have applauded you. As your son gave you the back talk of the century, you stayed calm and collected while adding 10 more push ups to his already growing number."

When her son decided he had something to say about WHERE he was doing the push ups, the mother had the perfect explanation.

Wooden said, "We need more parents like you, who aren’t afraid to parent their own children because of what someone else might think. He said “Mama, this is the bathroom floor, grossssss”.
She said “maybe you shouldn’t have been acting obnoxious. (They have soap for a reason.) 10 more.”

This is genius! It doesn't bring in the comments of 'this is child abuse' or 'you should be more polite to your kid'. I think this was the perfect response to a child not wanting to act appropriately inside a store. Props to her.

Facebook users felt much of the same way. Here are just a few (of over 14,000...) comments on Wooden's post:

"Absolutely brilliant...perhaps the lovely lady could give some parents lessons...perhaps there is hope for our future generations after all...xx"

"What a rare gem a mother who's actually parenting and following through on disciplining her child. You go mama!!!!!"

"I'm down for this, I'm from the age of spanking, but now that has changed, a mother to do a way of disciplining her child, yes let the child kno to mind, your the boss and respect you in public without raising your blood pressure any higher. Great job momma."
