Nacogdoches Man Dies in Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Highway 259
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are investigating an auto-pedestrian accident that resulted in the fatality of a Nacogdoches resident.
According to a media release from the DPS. the incident occurred Wednesday night (May 4), on U.S. Highway 259, about one and one-half miles south of Central Heights. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 11:15 p.m., a 2018 Toyota Yaris was traveling south in the outside lane of Highway 259. At that time, a pedestrian was walking south in the outside lane as well and was struck by the Toyota.
DPS officials have identified the driver as April Gann, 44, from Nacogdoches. She was not physically injured during the crash. The pedestrian is identified as Jimmy Williams, 41, also from Nacogdoches. Williams was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nacogdoches County Justice of the Peace.
This crash remains under investigation.
