Nike Is Working On Shoes That Lace Up By Themselves
Remember that scene in Back To The Future when Michael J. Fox's shoes tied automatically? Nike is working on the real-life version.
Maybe your first thought is, "Why?!" We probably should be willing to burn a calorie, bend down, and tie our shoes all by ourselves. But then there's the argument that the auto-tie version might help people with disabilities and it's hard to argue against that benefit.
Nike has filed for the patent and hopes to have them out this year. First velcro, and now this. Do kids really need to learn how to tie shoes anymore?
