Jeans-N-Bling Fundraiser To Help Local College Students

It's starting to get too hot for jeans, unless you're in a movie theater or grocery store, but it's always a good time to shop!

If you buy some jeans this weekend for yourself or your sweet wife, you'll be helping some kids earn scholarship money. 

The Lufkin area alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority will hold its Jeans-N-Bling fundraiser this Saturday in downtown Lufkin, to raise money for college scholarships.

KTRE reports the goal this year is $6,000 for the fund through the event.  There will be food and door prizes Saturday at the Lufkin Convention Center downtown, between 7pm and midnight.  Tickets are $30 at the door, or $25 in advance from any Delta Sigma Theta alumni member.

The group is a social service sorority with a focus on education and education empowerment of young women.
