Rock veterans Kansas recently wrapped their spring tour, and they’re in the process of getting ready for a fall return. The band has announced headline dates with veteran prog rock act King’s X supporting on most shows.

The tour will be a bit of a transition for Kansas, who spent the spring touring with the Kansas Collegiate Symphony for a more orchestral show. It also marks a very welcome return to action for King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill, who’s on the mend after suffering a heart attack back in February.

Kansas guitarist Richard Williams says, “We are really looking forward to the upcoming shows with King’s X. They’re a great band and a force to be reckoned with. It’s a tour like this that allows us to dig a little deeper into our catalog and play a few songs that Kansas fans haven’t heard for a while. It’s gonna be a lot of fun!”

King’s X’s Dug Pinick added, “I’ve been a huge Kansas fan since the beginning. I remember sitting on the floor with my friends listening to the just released record ‘Song for America’ … fast forward years later, King’s X is going on tour with them!! It is an honor to be doing shows with them. This is gonna rock!!”

The two acts will be supported on select dates by one-man band, That 1 Guy. Kansas has teamed with Music One Live to offer a limited number of premium and VIP ticket packages. Visit the band’s Facebook page for details.
