Texas football has a huge fan base.  And Aggies, you do too, but hold up before you start wanting to beat Texas at this little competition.  We can't decide if it's a good thing to have these bragging rights.

Longhorn fans had a record-setting year for alcohol sales.  Wait til you see how much!

Longhorn fans came out to the games in droves, despite the lackluster season and the coach getting fired and all.  The fan base is passionate and supportive, and fans want wins.  Maybe the lack of those this season is what drove some fans to drink.

The Austin-American Statesman says alcohol sales spiked more than 70 percent during the 2016 season compared to 2015, and Texas generated $3.1 million in revenue from beer, wine and liquor sold at football games.

Texas does have one of the largest stadiums in college football, so maybe this alcohol spend can be linked to the sheer number of people packed into the venue.  We'll never know if it was due to more drinks per person.  Unless you phone a friend and ask.

After finishing the season at 5-7 and the coach getting fired, we're pretty sure next season will be better.  Whether Texas continues to win at beer sales, remains to be seen.
