If it feels hotter than usual, it's true. Last month was the hottest June on record in Lufkin, and meteorologists don't see any signs of that changing.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says temperatures were the highest on record for June, and that's the average across the globe over land and water.  They've been keeping records since 1880.

June was also the 14th straight month that the global temperature record has been broken.

We could stress out about this news and worry that the world will keep getting hotter until we all melt, or we could just assume that the rest of the world is finally catching up with Texas.  It's hot here, and now everyone else is experiencing that with us, that's all.

So grab the sunscreen and head to the lake, or to the ice cream store, or to the bar for a cold beverage.  There are plenty of places to cool off and make the best of it in Texas.  Might as well!

And it looks like the 100s are on the way this weekend.
