There are currently six animal clinics operating in Nacogdoches. That might sound like a lot for a city the size of Nac, but when you think about all the animals that are located within the city limits, not to mention the animals in the surrounding areas, it actually makes a lot of sense. Plus, towns like San Augustine don't even have one vet, so the people there are more likely to bring their pets to Nacogdoches.

One of the vets in Nacogdoches is getting a new office. And when I say new, I don't mean that they're purchasing or leasing a building in a new location. I mean that they're building an entirely new structure, nowhere near their current location.

EasTex Veterinary Clinic Begins Building New Office Across from NISD

EasTex Veterinary Clinic is currently located at 7417 US-59 in Nacogdoches. For those of you not familiar with that location, it's kind of an isolated area far north of the city. It still has a Nacogdoches address, but it's outside of the city. And I get that. They service big animals (cattle, equine, etc.) so they need the space.

However, I've been keeping an eye on a construction site on the loop in Nacogdoches, directly across from the Nacogdoches High School. This is what I've been seeing:

Just new construction, right? Now, take a closer look at the sign in front of that new construction:

And that sign is what moves this from "rumor" - or maybe even "wishful thinking" for some people - to "it's really happening", and the EasTex Vet clinic is really moving.

Although, from what I've heard, they will still be keeping the location north of town open for the larger animals, and this new location will be for the more common animals - dogs, cats, things like that.

I look forward to new beginnings for the EasTex crew at this new location. I don't know all the logistics of it, obviously, but change is exciting. Right?

Exotic Animals You Can Legally Own in Texas

Texas has an estimated 7.2 million dogs, more than any other state. But perhaps you’re interested in branching out a bit and adding a less common exotic pet to your home.

Granted a few of these exotics are regulated and will require permits.
