People in Nacogdoches are familiar with Lumberjack Orientation days. That's when students and their families make their way to SFA so that the students can learn more about their degree plans, meet SFA faculty and staff members, get familiar with the campus, meet other Lumberjacks and more. It's also a chance for their families to learn more about SFA and the community.

Some orientations have already taken place. However, there are still several more coming up this summer.

  • June 12th

If you're a Nacogdoches resident, then these days might be ones that you choose to stay off the roads more than usual. You might even consider NOT eating out those evenings due to more people being in town those days. There will be more traffic, that's just a fact. There will also be more people in restaurants and stores, also a fact.

But even in the midst of those minor inconveniences, these are still good events for Nacogdoches. These are all chances for students to see this part of Deep East Texas, and since it'll be their "home away from home" for the next few years, we want them to have a good experience and get to know it well. Some of them, like me, might even stay around after graduation!
