Did You Know That Dennis Quaid Is Coming to SFA in April?
When talking about movie actors, Dennis Quaid has a pretty solid resume. He's played everything from Sam Houston in "The Alamo", to Jim Morris in "The Rookie", Ronald Reagan in "Reagan"...and the list goes on.

However, he's also making waves in the film industry in Texas, becoming a large part of the "True to Texas: Let's Bring Productions Home" campaign with several other big-name Texas actors like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Billy Bob Thornton and Renée Zellweger, all of which are pushing for film and television incentives right here in Texas. What's more, is that he's going to be speaking about all of this, in-person, at SFA.
Dennis Quaid Will Be Featured in Nelson Rusche Distinguished Lecture Series
Every so often, the Nelson Rusche College of Business at SFA will bring in speakers to present about their areas of expertise. One year they brought in Daymond John, the founder of the FUBU clothing line, and star of the TV show, "Shark Tank". Another year, they brought in professional skateboarder Tony Hawk to speak - not just because he's a professional athlete, but he's also a successful business owner. This year, Dennis Quaid will be the featured speaker.
This year's Nelson Rusche Distinguished Lecture Series will take place on Thursday, April 9th at 7:30 PM in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center at SFA. Tickets for the event are free and can be found in one of three locations - the Charles Bright Visitor Center in Downtown Nacogdoches, the Baker Pattillo Student Center Information Desk on the SFA campus, and room 137 of the McGee Business Building, also on the SFA campus.
While this is an event geared more towards the SFA students, anyone can attend. I personally think it would be pretty cool to hear from someone who has been immersed in the industry talk about it from their firsthand experience. Not only are you going to get to hear from Dennis Quaid as an actor, but also as someone looking to expand economic development right here in Texas.
