Whataburger Has Its Own National Day – And We’re Here for It
We love our Whataburger. That's just a fact. It's also a fact that it's not just Texans that enjoy Whataburger. How do I know that? Because Whataburger has its very own national day. It's a thing. I swear I didn't make it up.
National Whataburger Day is August 8th
Yes, you read that headline correctly. According to the National Day Calendar, our very own white and orange, Texas-proud burger joint has its very own day on the calendar - August 8th. It's set on that day, because on August 8, 1950, the very first Whataburger opened up in Corpus Christi.

Now, 76 years later, people all across the nation are able to enjoy Whataburger. According to the Whataburger website location directory, there are over 1,200 Whataburger locations in America - with 780 of them right here in Texas.
National Whataburger Day is still a new day on the calendar, having been started only in 2023. However, I think it's a day that will be here for a long, LONG time. Especially if the Texans have anything to do about it. Let's face it, we'd be making it a federal holiday if it was up to us.

Regardless of how you choose to celebrate, you should probably make it a point to go grab that Whataburger with fries. That's the easiest way to celebrate, right? Get ready, the big day is August 8th!
