East Texas was not immune to the tornado outbreak that hit Dallas-Fort Worth yesterday. A tornado was confirmed by a trained spotter around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, southwest of Sulphur Springs.

The National Weather Service will be in East Texas and North Texas today assessing the damage, and determining exactly how powerful those wind speeds were. As many as 12 tornadoes touched down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and hundreds of homes were damaged. In some cases entire second-stories were ripped off, and in other cases, couches were left in living rooms, surrounded by debris with the roof completely gone.

Thankfully, there have been very few reports of injuries.
